Proud Pits

**Warning: Animal abuse**

A call came in to Bully Paws on Tuesday, August 28th from the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter asking for help with a pit bull found near Guinea Station in Spotsylvania. He is a young male, found as a stray, burned from his head down his back to his tail. The shelter took him to the vet and he is now on painkillers and antibiotics.

One of our fantastic volunteers now has “Django” at his home and is caring for him. The extent of his injuries is sickening - no person or animal should have to endure this. His burns are almost down to the muscle in his body. Even after everything he has gone through, he is still wagging his tail.

There are costs associated with his upcoming vet visits (which will be the first of many) along with medicine and whatever future care he will need. We would certainly appreciate any funds you can afford to donate to his care!

We always see in the news about dogs attacking people, but we rarely see stories where the dog is the victim, and especially something as horrible as this. If you have any idea who may have done this, please report it to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Department.
